EO (2023)

#19. EO

"There are few films that aim to humanize the plight of animals, especially those of farm animals and beasts of burden.  Companions who have indeed made human society into what it is today.  And how we can so easily discard those that are most precious, most innocent, when they are no longer needed."

The most unconventional film of 2022 centers around EO, a donkey in modern day Poland.

In pseudo-documentary form, we follow EO's journey, first as a circus animal performing on-stage with his handler, Kasandra.  When the circus is forced to shut down, EO is sent away to work at a horse stable, and through trial and tribulation, EO is whisked away on a serious of misadventures.

There are few films that aim to humanize the plight of animals, especially those of farm animals and beasts of burden.  Companions who have indeed made human society into what it is today.  And how we can so easily discard those that are most precious, most innocent, when they are no longer needed.
