Avatar 2 (2022)

#11. Avatar 2: The Way of Water

"Water is what connects all living things, and there is no bigger fan of water, than James Cameron.  Through the Abyss, the Titanic, his deep-sea ventures through the Mariana trench, and eventually Avatar, James Cameron has shown that we still have much to learn about not only ourselves, but of the world that connects us."

The greatest strength of film and the moving picture, is the ability to bring images and imagination, to life.  And there are many a times when you're watching Avatar, that you simply forget that the world in which you're seeing, doesn't exist.  You're seeing the imagination of James Cameron, come-to-life.

Now that we know the world, we can dig a bit deeper into the dynamics.  Into the other parts of the planet.  Into a larger world, with larger ambitions.  We begin to see that the world isn't so simple as man vs. machine, that not everyone can agree on the ways to fight the rising tide.  Much like America, man is pitted against man, in an effort to dissuade those from the larger fight at hand.

Water is what connects all living things, and there is no bigger fan of water, than James Cameron.  Through the Abyss, the Titanic, his deep-sea ventures through the Mariana trench, and eventually Avatar, James Cameron has shown that we still have much to learn about not only ourselves, but of the world that connects us.
